An Easy Way to Improve Your Health…Just Smile

Research indicates that just by simply smiling you will bring significant changes to your physical and emotional health as well as your bank account.

The first thing that smiling does is to improve our attitude.  It is hard to be angry or depressed with a smile on your face.  Try it yourself when you are feeling down or angry at something or someone.

Secondly, smiling will make you more attractive.  A smiling person will appear to be happier, more successful, and therefore more attractive.  Who really wants to talk with someone who has a scowl on his or her face?  When you are smiling besides being more attractive, you will appear to be more approachable.  This is a great way to make new friends and create new relationships whether for business or in your personal life.

A third reason to smile more is that it is contagious.  Have you ever tried to smile at someone who seems mad, upset, or just plain bored?  Give it a try and you will find out that they will smile back.  It is fun to do and what a great gift you can give someone else…a smile. That will help them feel better too!

A fourth reason to smile more is that smiling relieves stress and boosts your immune system.  Stress often strains our immune systems and allows colds and other ailments to take their hold on our bodies.  I like to think of it this way…instead of an apple a day keeping the doctor away…try a smile a day!

A fifth reason to smile more is that it makes us all feel better.  Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins and serotonin.  These naturally occurring substances in our bodies help us feel better and have more energy.  The more you smile the more these feel-good substances your body produces.  Just think of all the tasks you will be able to accomplish with all your new energy.

Did you know that smiling reduces your blood pressure?   Well, a sixth reason to smile more is that research shows it will reduce your blood pressure.  Next time you are at the doctors office getting it checked try a reading when you are smiling.  You will see a reduction in your blood pressure when you are smiling.

And finally, the seventh reason to smile more. …Simply to show off your healthy beautiful smile!
